"Figure at a window", by Salvador Dalí.
"Figure at a Window" by Salvador Dali has always been one of my favorite paintings. A few years ago, even when starting with the cross stitch, and knowing of its high difficulty, I took it as a challenge. Here the result:
Following is a brief description:
"Figure at a window" is a famous painting by Spanish artist Salvador Dali painted in 1925. It is made by the technique of oil on cardboard, is very realistic and original measures are 105 x 74.5 cm.
The picture belongs to the formative stage of Dali when the artist was twenty and surrealism stillhad not appreciably influenced in his painting.
It represents the artist's sister, Ana Maria, at the age of seventeen, looking out the window, backin the house the family owned vacation in Cadaques, on the shores of the sea. Dalí did a great job of color consistency and simplicity in the composition, where the girl takes us into the landscape that it provides.
Clearly, the color values of the work are blue, as in Picasso's early works which were formed only by range of blue.

Myself
Hi, my name is Ana Maria and I'm from a beautiful country called Cantabria, northern Spain. My goal with this blog is to share one of my biggest passions, cross-stitch. Since I started some years ago, I made a hundred works, although some are for sale, others are for my personal collection. All the go hanging them to share and appreciate this ancient art, but always modern.
